Position:
Deputy Manager Procurement – Engineering, Business Services, and Contracts

Core Responsibilities:

1. Wellbeing and Compliance:

• Ensure understanding and compliance with SOPs, company policies, and procedures.
• Promote a safety culture and report safety observations.
• Maintain vigilance on safety hazards.

1. Areas of Focus:

• Lead the procurement team in successful competitive bidding and awarding of PO/contracts in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Strengthen the central team to handle engineering items, business services, contracts, and other procurement assignments.

1. Broadening Sources:

• Strengthen the supplier base by exploring and integrating strategic and specialized new sources.
• Maintain follow-up mechanisms and monitor delivery timelines.

1. Teamwork Culture Promotion:

• Collaborate with teams in Pakistan, EMEA, and Corporate USA.
• Coordinate budgeting and forecasting of relevant items.
• Demonstrate self-sufficiency, initiative, and procurement acumen to create value for the company.

1. Developing Procurement Team:

• Conduct in-house training on procurement acumen, negotiation strategies, and SWOT analysis.
• Recommend outsourcing training to enhance capabilities and skills.

1. KPI-based Performance:

• Meet clear and set KPIs for the position and evaluate subordinates’ performance on a half-yearly basis.
• Establish a transparent procurement dashboard to track team progress.

1. Project Management and Saving Initiatives:

• Manage projects and ensure timely delivery while implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

1. Soft Working:

• Proficiency in computer-based work using SAP and other software.
• Adaptability to a paperless environment and efficient use of relevant software.

Mandatory Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
• Proven practical experience in procurement of plant, machinery, spares, and related services.

Desirable Requirements:

• Supply Chain qualification is advantageous.
• Industry knowledge of relevant items/services, sources, best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Leadership qualities, self-drive, supportiveness, and goal-oriented mindset.
• High level of integrity, negotiation skills, and a humble attitude.
• Office management and supervisory skills with strong procurement acumen.

Required Behaviors and Skills:

• Professional proficiency in English and Urdu languages.
• IT skills in SAP, MS-Office, and other relevant software.
