Job Description

PART II: Broad Function:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the products and their competitors to effectively communicate the benefits to customers/users.
  • Maintain an updated contact records list of healthcare professionals (HCPs) with the approval of the District Field Manager (DFM) and record all calls in the VEEVA system.
  • Deliver professional and skillful presentations to targeted HCPs, including Purchase Authorities, Tender Committee, Store Officers, Pharmacists, etc., in the assigned territory to generate business.
  • Create weekly and monthly call plans and adhere to them to increase coverage of A, B, and C class customers, following defined KPIs.
  • Submit call reports through the VEEVA application within the designated time frame.
  • Monitor competitive activities in the geographical area and provide feedback to the DFM for communication to the marketing team to develop effective strategies.

PART III: Principle Responsibilities:

  • Conduct rate negotiations and submit quotations.
  • Ensure coverage of all hospital pharmacies, purchase departments, and supply chains within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain close communication with institutes and distributors to ensure end-to-end order execution.
  • Deliver professional presentations to listed HCPs using selling skills to encourage the inclusion of Pfizer products in the formulary for approved indications, aiming to increase prescriptions.
  • Participate in Tenders and Contracts (T&C) business in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with support functions and the head office T&C team to execute orders and arrange tender documents.
  • Verify all received orders.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to institutional business.
  • Call on practicing HCPs, hospitals, and other health-related organizations/personnel within the assigned territory.
  • Submit call reports to the District Field Manager via the VEEVA application according to defined KPIs.
  • Follow the approved tour program, make planned calls, and cover A, B, and C class customers.
  • Promote products ethically and provide accurate information about the product’s benefits.
  • Arrange Product Group Meetings with HCPs to discuss specific products in detail.
  • Stay updated on knowledge of own and competitive products.
  • Collect and report information on promotional and marketing activities of competitors.
  • Provide periodic feedback to the manager and marketing group regarding promotional activities.
  • Ensure availability of major promotable products in hospital formularies within the territory to fulfill prescriptions from customers.
  • Follow plans to achieve assigned objectives for increased institutional business from identified HCPs and provide regular reports to the District Field Manager.
  • Forward technical queries raised by HCPs to the Medical Division for clarification, with notification to the District Field Manager.
  • Maintain proper dressing, attire, and upkeep of records/detailing kit and assigned vehicle.
  • Submit expenses and leave plans within specified deadlines.

Qualification: Science graduate, preferably Pharm D.
Work Experience: Fresh graduate or up to 6 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
