Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Litigation Management: Handle tax litigation for Jazz and its subsidiaries, ensuring accurate reporting and recording of tax-related matters.
• Customs Resolution: Collaborate with relevant teams to manage and resolve customs-related issues, including customs duties and freight charges for imported telecom equipment, in a timely manner.
• Regulatory Issue Resolution: Obtain tax-related regulatory issues from various departments, analyze them, and take appropriate action after obtaining necessary approvals to ensure timely resolution.
• Representation: Act as Jazz’s representative when dealing with law enforcement agencies, providing justifications and explanations in line with the organization’s rules and policies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Gather tax-related issues and demands from relevant stakeholders, seek feedback through pertinent documents, analyze issues, and evaluate the organization’s stance. Present reports to supervisors, explaining the rationale and seeking approvals for necessary actions.
• External Legal Support: Prepare drafts of tax-related issues and share them with external parties, such as lawyers, to facilitate the timely resolution of identified issues in courts, safeguarding Jazz’s interests.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations by government bodies, ensuring that vendor payments are released in compliance with the latest regulations.
• Notice Handling: Receive notices from various tax authorities and law enforcement agencies, review and evaluate them, and appear before legal forums when necessary. Devise appropriate strategies and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• LLB/LLM Degree: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in a reputable organization.
• Legal Expertise: Good knowledge of sub-scenes and procedural law.
• Taxation Knowledge: Adequate knowledge of taxation, customs, duties, and regulatory issues.
• Drafting and Research: Proficiency in legal drafting and research.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
• Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively.
• Conflict Management: Skills to manage conflicts and disputes.
