Job Description

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), established in 1985, is one of the largest universities in Pakistan. It offers undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programmed through its five schools: Suleman Dawood School of Business, Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law and the School of Education

The position will be responsible for assisting the respective librarian and working with the professional staff to manage the circulation desk.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in technical processing of books and library materials.
  • Perform Circulation services and user orientated services.
  • Shelf reading of designated area on daily basis.
  • Assist library patrons in searching library materials.
  • To perform ready reference service on regular days and on weekends on Law related queries.
  • To organize and maintain a variety of standard laws of library records and files, update code sections, administrative regulations, and other loose-leaf legal treatises.
  • To browse law databases to provide articles to the faculty and students on demand.
  • To provide Xerox and scanned copies of required material to the faculty, students, and researchers.
  • To create and edit metadata records of books.
  • Create Parton accounts in VIRTUA.
  • Technical processing (stamping, printing, and pasting of barcodes and spine labels, RFID tagging) of books and other items.
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff.

To Qualify For The Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelors Degree from HEC recognized university
