Job Responsibilities:

  • As a dynamic people and process manager, this role demands strategic business acumen to effectively oversee a substantial grant portfolio.
  • Lead and strategize research administration across 15+ departments, ensuring alignment with institutional and funding agency regulations.

Your Role Includes:

  • Identify Funding Prospects: Collaborate with faculty to spot funding opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance: Scrutinize grant proposals for excellence and adherence.
  • Proposal Enhancement: Refine proposals in tandem with scientists, researchers, and administrators.
  • Budgeting Expertise: Develop budgets complying with AKU and agency guidelines.
  • Effective Negotiations: Engage stakeholders and secure internal and external approvals.
  • Efficiency Enhancement: Optimize processes through tools and templates, ensuring predictability.
  • Leadership Development: Nurture a skilled research administration team through training and succession planning.
  • Backlog Management: Analyze grant applications and contract backlogs for the FHS portfolio.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • MBA (additional certifications preferred) from a reputable university, nationally or internationally.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Business, Operations, Research, or Grants
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on efficiency.
  • Proven capacity-building and multitasking expertise. Effective leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Resilience to thrive in fast-paced environments. Proficiency in computing and report writing.
